Veteran’s Day —- The fourth Monday in October
Forest Lawn has 50 years of history to celebrate Veteran’s Day. Except the band and honor guards, the celebration also invites famous parachute team—-Golden Stars Skydiving Tea to join the performance.
Palm Springs Veterans Day Parade is another spectacular event on the day. After the memorial procession, there will be a magnificent concert at the scene followed by fireworks display.

Thanksgiving — the fourth Thursday in November
Thanksgiving Day is the most truly American of the national holidays in the United States. It is also a time to gather with family and friends, share a traditional meal and express gratitude for the good things in life. Fortunately, for foreign students who are far away from home, there are still some way for us to have fun.
If you are not able to have a nice family dinner like local students, why not hang out with some best friends to enjoy a Thanksgiving buffet? Many restaurants offer special Thanksgiving menus during the holiday season. Some like Laugh Factory even provide their customers with free Thanksgiving Turkey and other kinds of food.
You can also participate in some community celebration to make the night more meaningful. For example, at Westside Thanksgiving Night in Santa Monica, you can bring some household goods, clothes or other small items that you no longer need to donate. There will also be a variety of exciting outdoor activities, special games for children, and free open-air banquet. Helping others and reward yourself with delicious food is definitely a great way to make the cold Thanksgiving night warm and cozy！
